Alejandro Cortez began honing his skills as an artist at the age of four from his hometown of Cali, Colombia. He continued to develop his artistic talents throughout the years, eventually moving to Atlanta Georgia to pursue a higher education in art. He attended Georgia State University where he earned his BFA in Drawing, Painting and Printmaking. Always drawn to modern architecture and geometric abstraction, Cortez's work draws inspiration from thriving urban environments rich with new buildings and developments. These are elements which he interprets in his work as symbols of progress and change.
Alejandro Cortez aims to use his work to call attention to the beauty that exist in the balance between our present and future states.
